Toohey Forest Extended Family Session | Brisbane Family Photographer

Extended family sessions hold a special place for me. Yes at times they can be hard to organize and get everyone in the same place but oh how are they worth it. To record your family! I would totally say just take the time to do it!

There are a lot of combinations to get through and it can mean that time moves quickly without as much variety in images as say an immediate family session but this does not mean you cant create beautiful images. I always have in my mind that I want to get at least 3 different set ups of the whole family and then break down into smaller groups around each one of these scenarios and then some extra shots along the way. It can depend how big the extended family is but after shooting weddings for 20 years (eek) I can wrangle family groups together and pump out the combinations quickly in 20mins so in a whole session I actually feel chilled out. People often say gosh it must be hard but as long as I have an idea of the combinations of who is coming then Im good to go.

I can meet big families for the first time or like this family I have been capturing their kids since newborns.

We can meet at the park or the beach… then there are sessions like this. Chosen for meaning. This family live near Toohey Forest and these beautiful kids have made this fort over time with their grandad and the rest of the family - but you could tell it was special with grandad. I love it! Its the case of let me spend an afternoon with you where you feel most comfortable and it just takes your gallery to a whole other level.

There are photos in this gallery with grandad at the fort, each of the kids with just mum and just dad and extras with their Aunty. I really do aim to capture all the shots that mean the world to you and kept it as easy and relaxed as possible!

PS We use grid galleries so you can see a quick snapshot of a session. Just click on an image to see it full size and then move through with the arrows :)

Lifestyle Family Session | Salt Family Photographer

I have captured this beautiful family for 2 years on our beautiful Tweed Coast beaches but this session was a little keepsake as they moved on from their beautiful home to new adventures. I love a home lifestyle session. They are relaxed and a little imperfect and very personal to each client. Here are a few of each child having special focus on their rooms and a few from the main gallery of the family :) Selena x

Family | Currumbin Valley Family Portrait Photographer

This was a mini session to celebrate Rome turning 1 to match a session we did for his big sister Vienna. I love how a portrait freezes moments in time and captures our little ones at different stages. Rome is a little shy of the camera, any camera, but they are completely him and his gorgeous family helped him feel at ease. These are some of their favourite moments from the morning. Selena x

Miss Jorgie - Kingscliff Newborn Photographer

Its always nice to hear from a past client to capture their latest newborn images. Miss Isobel is now a big sister to Jorgie and she couldn't be more proud. Both sisters have been captured for their newborn session in their home with a studio look. While its nice to come into the studio for your session if you feel an in home option suits you better I am always happy to do this. Here are some of their family favourites. Selena x

Sibling Session Kingscliff | Kingscliff Family Photographer

The gorgeous Harry, Andie and Max! I love a sibling update session. We all have such busy lives so its really special to make the time to record a moment in time before they are all grown up. This session was after school - its possible to have a sunset session and still keep your weekends free. Beautiful kids and beautiful location. x
